Saying hello!

Bonjour! We have been practicing saying hello in different languages when doing attendance every day.  The children are interested in finding out how they say hello in different languages!  Please leave a comment with how to say hello in a language that someone else hasn't commented on!

week 7 and 8

We have been so busy, and doing so many amazing things!!!

During Inquiry we have been working on our Family Trees and our bug books.  It has been a long process, and our bug books still have a bit of work left to do, but our Family Trees are looking amazing!

In Language Arts, we have been learning about different types of stories.  We have been practicing retelling them with words and pictures.  We have also been practicing turning robot sentences into more detailed writing.

In math we have been practicing our skip counting with Jack Hartmann!  He helps us to get up and move while we count.  Singing and moving sometimes help students to remember skip counting patterns.

We have been practicing reading with a buddy, and sharing our favorite books!  We have discovered that the whole class really loves Piggie and Gerald books!

We have also been practicing with ordinal numbers (first, second, third, etc) and have been using these number names to play different games.

We continue to practice using our word books to help us with our spelling.  The students are getting very good at finding the right letter page for the word they are looking for, and some are able to pick out the word that they need!

Mrs. Boutilier was nominated to organize an art project to be hung in Head Office from our school.  The students had so many ideas on what we could do that we decided that we needed to take a little time to record our ideas in our Awesome Books to show Mrs. B and help her put together an amazing project!

Don't forget to sign up for a parent teach interview!  I look forward to meeting with you and talking about all the amazing things your children are accomplishing as a part of our learning community!
